We willl begin assigning acting roles at the orientation sessions. Preference will be given to those who were with us in the past and those who sign up early. If you already know you want to be a Core Actor, please respond to this email. Also let me know which orientation session you plan to attend.
If you would like to act, work with make-up, costumes, or construction. A waiver form must be completed by all actors and if you are under 18 your parent or guardian must sign the waiver. Waiver must be turned in to be able to participate.
If you are aware of friends who want to act this year, who would not be on our email list because they are new, please forward this email to them and have them reply to me.
Release of Liability and Damage Waiver Form
As was the case last year, we need to have all volunteers provide us with a signed waiver form. If you are 18 or older, you can personally sign this form. If you are younger than 18, please have a parent or guardian sign. Please bring the signed form with you when you attend Actor Orientation.
Actor Preparation Night
Tuesday, October 2nd , at 6:00 p.m.
We will issue/make costumes and walk through the haunts. Please try to attend this session.
We are looking forward to another frightfully fun year with our “haunt family.” Again, please respond to this email to let us know of your interesting in acting as a Core Actor or Daily Volunteer, and if you would like to help with make-up, costumes or Haunt crew.
It's a lot of work, especially the set up and construction, but setting up the scares and acting in the haunts is also a lot of fun. After all, how often do you have an opportunity to "scare the wits" out of your friends and others? If you would enjoy acting with us, please get in touch. Whether its for a day, a few days, "Days of Terror," or working with set up, we can use your help.
Creative Design. Do you enjoy planning scenes, scripts and scares? This year's haunts have already been scripted. However, if this is your passion, we invite you to get to know us, and consider working with our creative staff in the future.
Set up and Construction. If you can use power hand tools, enjoy building things, or work with mechanical equipment, we can use your help.
Light and Sound/Audio and Visual. Are you a
light or sound technician or junkie? Do you create videos or sound tracks? Get in contact with us.
Make-Up Artists. Do you enjoy creating ghouls, zombies, ghosts, vampires, and the like? Do you
have experience using an air brush make-up system? We will be using both air brush and traditional
Actors. Do you have a good scare in you? Do any of your friends? Actors are the backbone (and perhaps the whole skeleton) of our haunts. For many, it's also the most fun type of involvement. Think of it this way, if you don't sign up, your friends will be scaring you! Typically, we ask that actors be at least 15 years of age, although we sometimes do want and need younger characters.
Support Staff. We are looking for individuals willing to serve behind-the-scenes as Haunt Section Managers, and to provide general haunt support with snacks and beverages, equipment checks, costumes and other "as needed" front-of-house and back-of-house support to help ensure smooth operations.
